Can I give 1.5 mg instead of 3 mg trulicity 2 times?

Hello, due to the fact that it is very difficult now to get trulicity 3 mg solution for injection and this is my recommendation for use. I'm tired of calling pharmacies all over Poland. Is it possible to give 2 injections at the same time 1.5 mg to make it the same? Will it be different? Price certainly counts with this. Thank you for your reply, have a nice day

Pens are prepared in such a way as to provide the full dose of the drug in one administration and the manufacturer does not recommend dividing the doses. Although this is not in accordance with the instructions for use of the drug, in my opinion it is better for the patient to give the drug in two doses than for him to have to stop using the drug. In the information from the manufacturer, we can read that "it is estimated that the absolute bioavailability of doses of 3 mg and 4.5 mg is similar to that for the 1.5 mg dose, although no separate analyzes have been carried out. In the dose range of 0.75 mg to 4.5 mg, the increase in dulaglutide concentration is approximately proportional." The administration of two doses of 1.5 mg may be associated with the fact that the drug will not be released exactly the same when 1 dose of 3 mg is administered. However, in such a situation, to the best of my knowledge, it should not be associated with, for example, the risk of hypoglycemia (too low blood sugar level). How different can the absorption of the drug be and how important? It's hard to say, because I didn't get to such a comparison. Nevertheless, it is worth reporting this situation to the doctor and informing about the change in dosage (administration of the same dose in 2 injections).
