Both vaccines and medicines (such as Izotek) can rarely cause as a side effect severe anaphylactic (allergic) reactions with breathing problems, swelling of various parts of the body of the throat, face, lips and mouth and other violent symptoms immediately after administration and after some time after taking the drug. If you have been using Izotek for a long time, permanently and so far there have been no problems suggesting an allergy, it is more likely that the reaction occurred after the vaccine. If the health effect was severe (shock), then it is advisable to contact the vaccination point to report a possible side effect and analyze the case. This is especially important to be aware of the possible cause of the reaction and avoid the allergen in the future. Collecting information about serious allergic reactions is also very important in order to increase knowledge about the effects of medicines. If the first intake of Izotek took place a few hours after vaccination against COVID-19 and there were symptoms characteristic of shock, then it may be difficult to clearly determine which of the drugs caused the reaction. This should be analyzed with an experienced specialist. There is no information on the interaction of Izotek with COVID-19 vaccines. Taking medications such as Izotek is not a contraindication to vaccination against COVID-19.
