Can I be pregnant if I vomit 2.5 hours after taking a Marvelon tablet?
Hello, I have been taking birth control pills for almost 9 years, it is marvelon. I took the tablet a moment after 17.00, one-time vomiting occurred just after 19.30 it was the 6th tablet from the new package, that day I did not take another one. The next day tablet 7 taken correctly and also on that day there was intercourse without end in the middle . Can I be pregnant?

If vomiting occurs in less than 3-4 hours after taking the Marvelon contraceptive pill, the effectiveness of contraceptive protection may be reduced, which poses a risk of pregnancy. The correct procedure should consist in taking an additional tablet (e.g. from a spare package). If an additional tablet is taken in less than 12 hours from a standard hour, the occurrence of vomiting would not affect the effectiveness of the drug. However, if you take an extra pill after 12 hours or do not take it at all, the contraceptive effectiveness of Marvelon may be reduced. In this case, the risk of pregnancy is posed by intercourse without additional protection also in the week preceding the onset of vomiting. Subsequent intercourse after vomiting should be secured by an additional contraceptive method for at least 7 consecutive days.
