Is it possible to use doxycycline in patients allergic to penicillins?

Hello. I got a prescription for doxycyline 100mg 2 times a day for ueraplasme. I am allergic to penicillin and all its varieties and derivatives. hence my question, is doxicillin a penicillin and an antibiotic from the beta-lactam group? I read that this is a group of tetracyclines or is it not related to penicillin? after which I was to collapse.

Doxycycline belongs to the tetracycline group of antibiotics and can be used in people who are allergic to penicillin. Doxycycline, unlike penicillin, does not belong to beta-lactam antibiotics. It has a different mechanism of action than penicillins and is recommended for the treatment of some infections if the patient is allergic to penicillins (this is the case, for example, in the treatment of syphilis).
