Hello. Two years ago I underwent surgery to remove the thyroid along with the strait, I take euthyrox N 125. After the last tests, the doctor prescribed me a drug for lowering cholesterol -Roswera 30. I am reading the leaflet and there is information that Roswera 30 and 40 mg should not be taken if there are thyroid disorders. My question - should I take this drug in such a concentration or is it better to ask the doctor to change the drug or its concentration. Thank you for your reply

Roswera should be used with caution in patients with factors that promote myopathy/rhabdomyolysis. These diseases are manifested by severe pain, weakness and muscle hypersensitivity. A symptom of rhabdomyolysis is also a dark (like weak coffee) color of urine. Factors that promote rhabdomyolysis and myopathy include hypothyroidism, which does not mean that every patient will develop these diseases. The leaflet of the drug gives a statistical probability of the appearance of a given side effect, but does not allow to determine whether a person will have a specific effect. Certainly, you should inform your doctor about all the medicines and dietary supplements used, which will allow you to choose a safe and effective pharmacotherapy. It is also worth being aware of the effects of simultaneous use of these drugs, so that if their side effects are observed, the patient can associate the symptoms with the fact of combining specific substances.
