Swallowing the tablet, I choked on water. Is contraception preserved?

I took the Atywia Daily contraceptive pill and drank two sips of water and choked on the third and it caused a cough. Could the pill have fallen into my airways instead of my stomach? Will this reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills? Should I take an extra pill?

It is very unlikely that the tablet has fallen into the respiratory tract, instead of into the stomach. It is very likely that everything was fine with the tablet and there is no risk of reduced effectiveness.
