How to supplement vitamin D3 in deficiency?

VITAMIN D good morning I have low levels of vitamin D and recommended supplementation, one doctor wrote me a prescription for vitamin D in a high dose (30,000 IU) to take once a week, the other recommended supplementation only 2000 UI once a day. my question: is supplementation once a week with a large dose more effective or will the effect be the same if you take 4000 UI every day? is a high-dose vitamin that is prescription more effective?

According to guidelines published in 2013 for the treatment of vitamin D3 deficiency, the recommended therapeutic dose is between 1,000 and 10.m 00 U per day (approx. 50.m 000 U per week) depending on body weight and the degree of deficiency for 1-3 months. During treatment, it is recommended to perform regular determinations of the level of vitamin D3 in the body, which allows you to modify the recommended pharmacotherapy. The 2018 amendment provides several different dosage regimens for vitamin D3 depending on global or Polish guidelines. It is suggested that regular, more frequent use of lower doses of the drug is characterized by an increased safety profile of therapy. However, the effect on increasing the level of vitamin D3 should be similar in these two methods. One-time high doses of vitamin D3 can lead, for example, to hypercalcemia. Depending on m.in the degree of deficiency, it is recommended to increase the supplementation dose of vitamin D3 by 50%, 100% or to use a therapeutic dose (e.g. 10,000 U.m). The recommended procedure should also be influenced by m.in diet, lifestyle, and patient's body weight. The greatest effectiveness in the treatment of vitamin D3 deficiency is characterized by preparations registered as medicines. Numerous preparations are available without a prescription, such as: - Detrtitin (dose in 1 tabl. 4000 U.m.): https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/114732/detritin-tabletki-powlekane/apteki - Ibuvit D3 4000 (dose in 1 cap 4000 U.m.): https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/105589/ibuvit-d3-4000-iu-kapsulki/apteki - Ibuvit D3 2000 (dose in 1 caps. 2000 U.m.): https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/105588/ibuvit-d3-2000-iu-kapsulki/apteki - Vigantol (dose 500 U.m in 1 drop): https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/82436/vigantol-krople/apteki If you have doubts about the recommended doses of vitamin D3, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. The correct determination of the recommended dose of the drug should be based, m.in, on a specific level of vitamin D3, but also on the method of conducting earlier supplementation. The recommended doses are also influenced by m.in the patient's body weight.
