Can I use iodine to burn a wart on my foot if I have Hashimoto's?

Hello, The podiatrist recommended me to lubricate the wound with iodine after burning a viral wart. I have hashimoto's disease. Won't iodine hurt me?

Iodine is a substance that is very easily absorbed, therefore, although there is a low risk of affecting the thyroid gland when using this remedy on the feet, iodine should be avoided in people with Hashimoto's. Perhaps it is worth discussing with your doctor the legitimacy of using other means, e.g. freezing preparations or based on salicylic acid and lactic acid - these products can be purchased at the pharmacy without a prescription.
