Does the gentle dissolution of Slinda in the mouth affect its effectiveness?

Hello. Does the gentle dissolution of the contraceptive pill " Slinda " in the mouth just before swallowing affect its effectiveness? No need to take a tablet from a spare blister?

In such a system, you have no reason to worry - regularity in the use of tablets is crucial to maintain their effectiveness, you do everything correctly. Best regards!

Thank you very much for the comprehensive answers 🙂 I always take the tablets at a fixed time and drink them with water. Yesterday's situation with the dissolution of the tablet in the mouth was a one-time one. Yesterday I had intercourse and there was an ejaculation in the vaginal area, hence my concerns about the need to take an additional tablet.

The effectiveness may be impaired in the event of vomiting or diarrhea occurring up to 4 hours after taking the contraceptive pill. Otherwise, unless the tablet is mechanically removed from the body - there is no need to double the dose - please do not do this. If you forget to take the pill at the right time, then take it as soon as possible and then use an additional method of contraception for the next 7 days. You can also skip the placebo tablets completely and immediately switch to using another blister (then the day of using the first active tablet changes and you should remember about it). Please do not use several tablets at once if the situation does not require it and the one described by you definitely does not require it. Please concentrate on taking the tablets at the same time each day (an alarm on your phone may be helpful) and on swallowing the tablet immediately after putting it in your mouth. The drink to be washed down should be water.

And if I took an additional active pill in this cycle 2 for fear of losing the effectiveness of the one swallowed yesterday, would it affect the effectiveness of hormonal contraception? In this cycle, I took one additional tablet by mistake. Could I continue this blister without worrying about contraceptive protection?

This is exactly what was written in the first answer I gave - there is no need to use an additional tablet and protection is maintained if the situation looked like you presented it. For the future, please remember to swallow the tablet as soon as you put it in your mouth.

So such a one-time situation does not affect the effectiveness of contraception, protection will be maintained and certainly there is no need to take an additional tablet from a spare blister?

Most likely, there is such a possibility - if the tablet was kept for a long time in the mouth of saliva and a moist environment would lead to its dissolution as well as absorption - when swallowing saliva, the dissolved layers of the tablet would eventually go to the stomach anyway. However, please do not allow such situations - Slinda tablet is intended to be swallowed and should be taken in this way and not in any other way.

And is there such a possibility that the entire contraceptive pill "Slinda" would dissolve in the mouth? Then the effectiveness of contraception would also be preserved?

Thank you very much for your reply 🙂

There is no need to use an additional contraceptive pill - only the shell of the drug, which does not contain active substances, has probably been dissolved in the mouth. You have no reason to worry, but for the future - please try to swallow the tablet immediately after taking it into your mouth, preferably with water.
