Concomitant use of Brintellix, Bioxetin and Lamitrin increases the risk of rare side effects such as serotonin syndrome and hyponatremia (reduced levels of sodium in the blood) and may increase the incidence of seizures. However, if the patient is under constant medical supervision, these drugs can be used together. Serotonin syndrome can include symptoms such as confusion, hallucinations, seizures, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, chills or tremors, blurred vision, muscle cramps or stiffness, lack of coordination, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In turn, the symptoms of hyponatremia include nausea, vomiting, headache, lethargy, irritability, difficulty concentrating, memory impairment, confusion, muscle spasms, weakness and instability. If you experience any of these symptoms, talk to your doctor immediately.
