What can I use to treat herpes in the mouth? How long can the symptoms of herpes last?

Good morning, I have herpes on my gum and older my jaw hurts as if only they were done canal a few years ago. And now I have inflammation and drugs like Ibuprom do not help much. What can bring me relief and how much such herpes occurs on the gum?
