Of the anticoagulants for breastfeeding women, the safest option of first choice is heparin injections, especially if the baby is in the neonatal period. Other medications may be considered if there is no other choice and the benefits outweigh the risks to the child, as there is no published data on their safety. In the case of Clopidogrel (this medicine has also been used in children with good tolerance), some experts believe that it can be used during breastfeeding if necessary, and the risk can be minimised by waiting at least 6 hours after the last dose of the medicine before breastfeeding again. Sulodexide (Vessel Due F) due to its high molecular weight is probably slightly excreted in breast milk, but at the moment due to the lack of research, its use is not recommended.
