Emanera should not increase the level of iron in the blood, on the contrary, long-term use of esomeprazole (the active substance in Emanera) may reduce the absorption of m.in iron (also vitamin B12, calcium, magnesium), due to the reduced secretion of hydrochloric acid by parietal cells in the stomach.
