Is not feeling the threads in the Mirena system a cause for concern?

Is not feeling the threads in the Mirena system a cause for concern? Can groin and hip pain without mechanical damage a week after insertion of the IUD be associated with the application of Mirena?

Contact with a doctor is necessary if the patient stops feeling the threads of the Mirena system in the vagina. This may be a sign of system expulsion or perforation. The presence of threads in the vagina can be checked by gently inserting a finger into the vagina to feel the threads at the end of the vagina at the entrance to the uterus (cervix). Do not pull the threads, because you can accidentally remove the system. Avoid sexual intercourse or use mechanical contraception, such as a condom, until your doctor determines that the system is in the correct position. Side effects that can be associated with the installation of the Mirena system include, for example, back pain or pelvic pain. In my opinion, pain in the groin and hip should also be checked by a doctor during the visit.
