Good evening, For fever I give my son (3-year-old) suppositories with paracetamol (unfortunately, the son does not want to drink any syrups). The son weighs about 16 kg so he gives him efferalgan 150, which is recommended every 6 hours. What to do if the temperature rises, for example, after 5.5 hours? Fear to wait with the drug even half an hour and on the other hand pointless to jump out with ibuprofen (to administer alternately). Please give me a hint.

If the child has a fever 30 minutes before a possible administration of an antipyretic drug, cool compresses are indicated. To do this, soak gauze or a clean cloth in water, and after squeezing, apply, for example, to the forehead, temples, occiput, calves, groin, neck or knees. Another way is to take a few minutes bath in a bath with water at a temperature lower by 0.5-1 degree relative to body temperature. The use of colder water is associated with the risk of thermal shock. I am attaching a study that may be helpful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/app/artykuly/goraczka-u-dzieci-i-niemowlat
