Paroxetine - the active substance of Paroxinor - works after at least 2 weeks, often - longer. Before the drug reaches its therapeutic effect, some side effects may intensify. In particular, this applies to thoughts of self-harm or suicide, but the patient may also feel powerlessness, fatigue, weakness, worsening of depression or anxiety, sweats, muscle tension, pulsation, a feeling of tremor or heat in various parts of the body or restlessness. Other side effects may also be more pronounced. This is due to the fact that drugs weaken the perception of anxiety quite quickly, but do not immediately have an antidepressant effect. If the patient is not able to cope during the period of adaptation of the body to the drug due to numerous side effects, he should consult a doctor. If it is not possible to talk to the attending physician, he should consult his family doctor. In selected cases, the doctor may attach emergency sedatives and hypnotics for a period of about 2 weeks, which will eliminate the side effects of paroxetine. Do not stop taking Parogen alone and overnight. The drug should be discontinued gradually, according to the scheme prescribed by the doctor.
