Can Ozempic be used for reactive hypoglycemia? Will it help to maintain a constant glucose level so that hypoglycemic attacks do not occur?

In response to the great interest of patients, a non-reimbursed drug Ozempic from parallel imports appeared in pharmacies. The availability of the drug in pharmacies can be checked here: Ozempic 0.5 mg https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/99258/ozempic-iniekcja/apteki?pvid=275329 Ozempic 1 mg https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/99258/ozempic-iniekcja/apteki?pvid=275351
He has been using ozempic on reactive hypoglycemia for nearly 2 years. It worked very well, the sugar normalized, there were no drops, but slowly stops working.

Ozempic is indicated for use in people with insufficiently controlled type 2 diabetes, including adequate diet and exercise. The document of the manufacturer of the drug does not indicate that it can be used in reactive hypoglycemia. To the best of my knowledge, the basic action in reactive hypoglycemia is to change the diet, m.in avoiding products with a high glycemic index (e.g. fruit juices) and increasing the number of meals during the day, avoiding starvation, increasing the amount of fiber in the diet. However, I am not aware that Ozempic is used in people with reactive hypoglycaemia. As for medications, metformin or acarbose is used. However, this is an "off label" activity. According to my information, at the moment there is not enough confirmed evidence in large clinical trials for the effectiveness of pharmacological treatment of reactive hypoglycemia, so there are also no drugs that would clearly be indicated for use by patients with this disorder. Here we explain what an "off label" treatment is: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/leczenie-off-label-poza-wskazaniami
