Hi I contact edys brother was in aa but after some time he gave up someone to go for him and take to prescribe him medication to stop drinking again. Sam does not want to go and this is the problem. I understand that you want to help your brother, but if he does not have any desire to undertake therapy, it may be impossible. There is no one best drug in the treatment of alcoholism. Therapy is selected on the basis of an interview with the patient, also in terms of the stage of addiction. I do not think that the doctor will prescribe drugs "blindly", only at your request. I suggest persuading my brother to at least contact the family doctor. The optimal would be a consultation with a psychiatrist, preferably an addiction therapy specialist.
