Antibiotics, such as Bioracef, are sometimes given in patients with COVID-19, but only if during a viral infection there is an overinfection of the respiratory tract with bacteria, as a result of which it may develop, e.g. pneumonia. In this case, the implementation of an antibiotic is necessary, while the antibiotic itself does not cure COVID-19, because it does not work on viruses. Information about why an antibiotic was prescribed during COVID-19 can be provided by the doctor who prescribed it.
