The absence of bleeding when using the Mirena system is a normal and expected reaction of the body to the presence of an IUD. The absence of a period does not have a detrimental effect on health. The absence of menstruation under the influence of the Mirena IUD is a symptom of the effect of the hormone on the endometrium, which is too thin for monthly changes and exfoliation manifested by bleeding.
