Depo-Medrol with lidocaine does not reduce the effectiveness of Axia Conti, but drugs that inhibit the activity of the CYP3A4 isoenzyme in the liver, which metabolizes drugs, e.g. Axia Conti, reduce liver clearance and increase the plasma concentration of drugs that are substrates of CYP3A4, such as methylprednisolone- the active ingredient of Depo-Medrol. So if you are taking a contraceptive, you should inform the doctor who prescribed Depo-Medrol with lidocaine, because Axia Conti may increase its concentration in plasma, so it may be necessary to adjust the dose of methylprednisolone in order to avoid the toxic effects of steroids on your body.
