Hello, I have a question related to the possible interaction between drugs: Zoloft/Trittico CR. The doctor prescribed me Zoloft (currently 25mg) and Trittico CR (also 25mg) - 2 hours before bedtime. Zoloft initially taken in the morning, was due to side effects moved to the evening. Can both drugs be taken at the same time in the evening (or what time interval would be advisable) ? Can drugs affect each other?

There is a significant interaction here - such a combination results in an increase in side effects and the risk of serotonin syndrome. Serotonin syndrome is manifested m.in confusion, agitation, fever, sweating, ataxia, hyperreflexia, muscle clonic seizures and diarrhea. This condition is distinguished by the so-called triad of symptoms, which includes: 1) Vegetative disorders, i.e. an increase in blood pressure, fever, diarrhea, vomiting and mydriasis. 2) Psychiatric symptoms, consisting of anxiety disorders, feelings of anxiety and confusion. 3) Neuromuscular ailments, i.e. recurrent cramps, pain and increased muscle tone. A possible time interval suggested in the question will also not solve the problem, due to the fact that the drugs have long duration. For Zoloft, the average half-life in the body is about 26 hours, and for Trittico about 12 hours. In this case, I encourage you to consult your doctor, who will recommend the appropriate therapeutic treatment for you.
