Diarrhea is one of the common side effects of Pentasa. The observed side effect of the therapy should be reported to the doctor, which we wrote about here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane If the side effects do not go away or worsen, the doctor may decide to stop the therapy. According to the manufacturer - the mere occurrence of diarrhea does not have a significant impact on the effectiveness of therapy: "Pathophysiological changes observed during the active phase of the disease, such as diarrhea and increased acidity within the intestine, only slightly affect the delivery of mesalazine to the intestinal mucosa."
