Should I supplement potassium and sodium while taking Polsart?
Good morning, for the first time I was prescribed Polsart, whether it is necessary to supplement Potassium and magnesium with this preparation. Is it effective in the treatment of arterial pressure and does it have a positive effect on lowering the pulse?

Polsart contains telmisartan, a substance from the sartan group, which can increase the concentration of potassium in the blood, so during the use of this drug you should avoid products rich in form and do not supplement potassium. Telmisartan given to hypertensive patients lowers both diastolic and systolic blood pressure, without affecting heart rate - that is, it will not lower the pulse. Since the drug can increase potassium levels and lower the level of sodium in the blood, it is worth regularly examining the concentration of electrolytes in the blood during treatment.
