Is it possible to use secretion thinning drugs such as Phlegamin or Flavamed with COVID-19?

Good morning. My wife has tested positive for covid. She was given an antibiotic for the virus, which I think is a bit strange. In addition, she had a fever for a week, now the fever has dropped, but there is a thick discharge that causes suffocation with the so-called wet cough. Is it possible to use drugs that dilute secretions such as Phlegamin or Flavamed while using Augmentin? Can suffocating dense whitish discharge be a symptom of pneumonia? Is it possible to use the drug to inhale Miflonide in this case? Please advise. Best regards

Stosowanie antybiotyku w przypadku infekcji wirusowej nie jest standardowym postępowaniem, ponieważ antybiotyki są skuteczne wobec bakterii. Na temat uzasadnienia wdrożenia antybiotyku najlepiej dopytać się u lekarza - być może istniały inne przesłanki, dla których takie leczenie okazało się preferowane. Antybiotyk może być potrzebny, jeśli pacjent wykazuje cechy nadkażenia bakteryjnego.

Kaszel w przebiegu COVID-19 może przybierać formę produktywną lub suchą. Nie ma przeciwwskazań, aby podczas terapii lekiem Augmentin stosować leki wykrztuśne takie jak Flegamina czy Flavamed (należy zdecydować się na jeden lek), jeśli pojawił się kaszel o charakterze "mokrym".

Lek Miflonide to preparat przeciwzapalny wydawany na receptę i należy go stosować tylko wówczas, jeśli tak zaleci lekarz. Jeśli uważacie Państwo, że stan żony się pogarsza lub pojawiły się nowe, niepokojące objawy, to proponuję kontakt z lekarzem rodzinnym.
