Can spotting occur after Provera?

Hello, I was late for a period of 2 weeks so I went to the gynecologist, who prescribed me provere. Already on the same day I started taking it for 7 days 2x 5mg (as recommended by the doctor). On the third day after cessation, spotting appeared. What could it be? I would like to add that during the examination the doctor did not find anything suspicious except for the fluid from the back of the uterus and the fact that the uterus was slightly enlarged (he did not find pregnancy).
