Lek Heparegen jest dostępny na receptę i powinien być stosowany zgodnie z zaleceniami lekarza, który ma dostęp do pełnej historii medycznej pacjentki i jej wyników badań. Na tej podstawie może stwierdzić czy jest potrzeba zastosowania tego leku oraz czy będzie to bezpieczne. Heparegen zawiera kwas tiazolidynokarboksylowy, który m.in. pobudza wydzielanie żółci przez wątrobę.

Często stosuje się leki pobudzające wydzielanie żółci podczas wracania pacjenta po zabiegu do normalnej diety, szczególnie jeśli pojawiają się objawy niestrawności.
