If my child developed diarrhoea 20 minutes after antibiotic treatment, should I stop antibiotic therapy?
Daughter of 6 years. Due to increased CRP and colds with high mountain, she was given the antibiotic Amotaxi, 8ml twice a day. Before administering the first dose of the antibiotic, I gave 6 drops of the probiotic Multilac baby. 20 minutes after the administration of the antibiotic, the daughter got diarrhea. Should I give a higher dose of probiotic or stop taking an antibiotic and contact my pediatrician tomorrow?

Jeśli biegunka wystąpiła po 20 minutach od przyjęcia pierwszej dawki antybiotyku, najprawdopodobniej nie była ona spowodowana tym lekiem (nie zdążył się jeszcze wchłonąć), a trwającą infekcją.
Jeśli biegunka wystąpiła tylko raz, proszę kontynuować podawanie antybiotyku oraz probiotyku (6 kropli dziennie). Jeśli sytuacja będzie się powtarzała, należy skonsultować się z pediatrą.
