Can taking Brintellix have negative effects when playing sports? I read that the substance can have a negative effect on the skeletal system.

Dokumentacja leku Brintellix zawiera wzmiankę, że badania epidemiologiczne - prowadzone głównie u pacjentów w wieku 50 lat i starszych - wykazały wzrost ryzyka złamań kości u osób otrzymujących leki przeciwdepresyjne podobne do wortioksetyny (składnika czynnego leku Brintellix). Ponieważ nie wiadomo, jakie mechanizmy stoją za tym zjawiskiem, trudno jednoznacznie przesądzić, czy także Brintellix może sprzyjać złamaniom. Niemniej ulotka zawiera ostrzeżenie dla pacjenta, że "U pacjentów przyjmujących leki tego typu obserwowano wzrost ryzyka złamań kości".
