Preparat Uro-Vaxom nie jest antybiotykiem. Lek działa raczej na zasadzie szczepionki - zawiera lizat bakterii Escherichia coli, najczęściej odpowiedzialnych za zakażenia dróg
moczowych. Podanie preparatu zwiększa odporność na zakażenia urologiczne - między innymi pobudzając komórki takie jak limfocyty czy makrofagi.
