Preparat - pod nazwą HypoCat - o którym Pan najprawdopodobniej pisze, opracowali szwajcarscy naukowcy. Pierwsze wzmianki pojawiły się na jego temat już kilka lat temu. Z informacji na stronie Saiba Animal Health (firmy opracowującej technologię preparatu) wynika, że projekt jest zaawansowany, ale nieukończony i trwają prace nad jego komercjalizacją.
Preparat faktycznie miałby być przeznaczony dla kota, a nie dla człowieka. Mechanizm działania tej szczepionki polega na neutralizowaniu białka Fel d1 (sekretoglobiny), które występuje skórze i wydzielinach kota i ma właściwości alergizujące człowieka. Kot liżąc swoje futro rozprzestrzenia to białko po swoim ciele, stąd opinia, że to sierść kota uczula (chociaż faktycznie chodzi o wspomniany alergen w postaci białka).
