Yes, this situation can occur and it is not a cause for concern.
Many people repeat the test to be sure of the result. Unfortunately, the second score will not be exactly the same as the first, and it is often lower.
During the test, the cuff of the blood pressure monitor squeezes our arm quite tightly, which causes a temporary disruption in blood flow. Pressure on the arterial vessels causes temporary paralysis of the vascular musculature and reflex widening of their lumen, which results in a drop in pressure, which is why the second measurement is usually lower.
If you want to repeat the test, you should wait at least a few minutes or take the measurement on the other hand. Please remember, however, that the pressure between the hands varies, which is completely natural. However, this difference should not exceed 10 mm Hg.
