No, emergency contraception in the form of the Escapelle pill does not affect your hormonal contraception and does not impair its effectiveness. Levonorgestrel is a synthetic hormone – in a powerful dose it is found in Escapelle, in much lower concentrations in some hormonal contraceptive drugs. Its action is based on the inhibition of ovulation.
