Depakine Chrono 500 to lek złożony zawierający w składzie dwie substancje czynne: walproinian sodu oraz kwas walproinowy, natomiast Ergenyl 500 to preparat z samym walproinianem sodu, zatem preparatów tych nie można stosować zamiennie:
