Free glucose meters are available to people diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, type 2, gestational diabetes. In some pharmacies it is possible to get a glucometer free of charge when buying strips for it. However, this is quite variable and it is best to call the pharmacy where the meter is available and ask on what terms we can get it. Patients with diabetes can also receive a glucometer in diabetes clinics or you can call the hotline of a specific company producing strips and glucometers (e.g. in the event of a failure of the meter we have used so far) and thus receive a glucometer. If you want to control the level of glycemia, and you do not have diabetes - you probably need to buy it. A good glucometer, designed for occasional glycemic control, can be purchased for approx. PLN 40. Of course, more advanced devices can also cost about PLN 350, but I do not know your needs.
