Obtaining a positive PCR test result for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus is possible 2 months after the disease. According to the researchers, people who have undergone COVID-19 can get a positive result of the RT-PCR test detecting the genetic material of the SARS-CoV-2 virus for several to several weeks, without being infectious. For this reason, the re-testing of recovered patients within 3 months of illness should only take place in patients who show signs of SARS-CoV-2 infection. An antigen test is considered more reliable in this case. To @Anna: it is difficult to unequivocally settle your individual case. A false negative PCR result may be associated with pre-laboratory errors (during sampling) and at the material processing stage. Although they are rare, they cannot be completely excluded.

How is it possible that the results of the schnelltest are positive and 5 tests and the PCR came out negative?

To @Kaja: As a colleague mentioned, after COVID, you don't have to take a test again to get the status of a recovered person. However, a situation in which the PCR test shows a positive result for an exceptionally long time ("surviving PCR") may actually be a problem, e.g. in people who, after some time after the illness, want to travel and in connection with the trip have to be tested. The possibility of long-term persistence of positive results, despite the disappearance of ailments and the disappearance of the patient's infectivity, is indeed considered a disadvantage of PCR tests. Such a test should be negative after about 21 days from the onset of symptoms - on average, after about 14 days. Unfortunately, there are known cases of prolonged persistence of positive results after getting sick - even up to several (6-12) weeks. It is believed that in these patients - as part of the process of regeneration and healing - the body can still excrete dead cells of the tissues of the respiratory tract containing elements of an inactive virus. However, other mechanisms that have not been sufficiently understood and explained so far may also come into play. It is worth noting, however, that a positive result after a long time after the onset of illness may also be associated with reinfection and such a possibility should always be taken into account.

To @Kaja: people who have tested positive for PCR testing for SARS-CoV-2 infection are granted an EU COVID certificate to the recoverer after the isolation ends. To receive a certificate, recoveries do not have to take the test again. In case of suspicion of re-infection in people who have recently undergone COVID-19, it is recommended to perform an antigen test first, because as mentioned in the previous thread, after getting sick, a positive PCR test result may persist for about 2-3 months.

How does this relate to the regulations that are now . After COVID you need to do a test to get a certificate of 🙈 recoveries If a few weeks after getting sick the test can be positive
