Gorączka może być jednym z objawów ostrego zapalenia woreczka żółciowego. Inne objawy to m.in. silny ból w górnej części brzucha, nudności i wymioty. Gdy wystąpią takie objawy najlepiej udać się do lekarza pierwszego kontaktu.
Stan zapalny woreczka żółciowego powstaje na skutek utrudnionego odpływu żółci lub całkowitego zamknięcia dróg żółciowych, co może być spowodowane np. obecnością kamieni żółciowych.
