For @koko: This means that the Jaydess IUD releases less hormones during the day - but this does not affect its contraceptive effectiveness. Kyleen and Jaydess inserts were compared in a blinded randomized controlled trial involving 2885 women in Europe and North and South America. The three-year cumulative Pearl index was 0.33 for the Jaydess insole and 0.31 for Kyleen The number of unplanned pregnancies, or failure rates, was similar each year for both devices and ranged from 0.2 to 0.4% per year over three years.
What does it mean that for Jaydess the release is lower? Does this mean that Kyleena is potentially more effective?

Obie wkładki mają korpus w kształcie litery T i są umieszczane w jamie macicy, gdzie w sposób ciągły uwalniają lewonorgestrel. Zakłada jest ginekolog, ale technika aplikacji jest taka sama. Także rozmiar obu wkładek jest taki sam, chociaż Kyleena ma większy zbiorniczek na hormon i niebieskie nitki. Nitki systemu Jaydess są brązowe. Oba systemy posiadają srebrny pierścień.
System Kyleena jest zarejestrowany jako metoda antykoncepcji, czas stosowania do 5 lat (całkowita zawartość hormonu to 19,5 mg), a system Jaydess - jako metoda antykoncepcji do 3 lat (całkowita zawartość hotmonu jest mniejsza - 13,5 mg). Szacowany wskaźnik uwalniania lewonorgestrelu w mikrogramach na 24 godziny jest zmienny w czasie (wyższy tuż po założeniu) i spada wraz z czasem stosowania systemu. Jednak dla systemu Jaydess w każdym z punktów czasowych jest on niższy niż dla systemu Kyleena.
Przykładowo uwalnianie wstępne (niedługo po założeniu) dla systemu Kyleena to 17,5 μg/dobę, a dla Jaydess - 14 μg/dobę.
