Melobax jako substancję aktywną zawiera meloksykam, który należy do niesteroidowych leków przeciwzapalnych.
Roticox jako substancję aktywną zawiera etorykoksyb, który podobnie jest niesteroidowym lekiem przeciwzapalnym, ale będącym, wybiórczym inhibitorem oksygenazy typu 2. Oznacza to, że ma inny profil bezpieczeństwa i może wywoływać inne działania niepożądane. Reasumując, obydwa leki wymagają przepisu lekarza. Ich działanie jest podobne ale nie identyczne.
