When will swelling begin to descend from tooth inflammation after the antibiotic Amotaks?

Hi, I'm after 3 doses of antibiotic Amotaks 1g. I have a whole swollen mouth from inflammation (tooth) when there is a chance that swelling will begin to descend? Is it possible that the antibiotic does not work?

To @Justyna: I most likely took the wrong antibiotic for you. From what I understand, you did not consult a doctor and took the medicine that you had in your home medicine cabinet. Please consult your doctor as soon as possible. If you do not have the opportunity to consult your doctor, you can use teleadvice here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja

There is no strict limit to the time after which Amotaks should produce a significant effect. It depends on the susceptibility of the bacteria to the antibiotic and the characteristics of the infection itself. The speed of action also depends on the type of antibiotic. In the case of bactericidal antibiotics - such as amoxicillin (the active ingredient of the drug Amotaks), the effect is usually fast, and improvement can occur after the day of treatment, while in the case of a large outbreak or increased infection, the drug needs more time to significantly reduce the amount of bacteria. The general rule is that if after 2-3 days of taking the antibiotic there is no improvement in health, or even worsening, then a change in therapy should be considered. If you are concerned about your health condition right now, please contact your doctor on a regular basis. Unfortunately, the lack of effectiveness of the antibiotic cannot be ruled out. Unfortunately, more and more strains of bacteria show resistance to the antibiotics used.
