Cena leku refundowanego jest taka sama w każdej aptece i jest rezultatem negocjacji pomiędzy Ministerstwem Zdrowia i producentem. Ceny leków nierefundowanych w dużym stopniu kształtuje wolny rynek. W przypadku, kiedy istnieje monopol na dany lek na rynku, pozycja negocjacyjna państwa nie jest w mojej ocenie wcale taka oczywista. Zarejestrowano kilka zamienników leku Xarelto (np. Rivaroxaban Aurovitas, Runaplax, Xanriva), ale nie są one jeszcze dostępne w aptekach.
