Does pregabalin also heal peripheral nerves, or does it only reduce pain?

For two weeks I have been taking an existential drug for neuropathic pain at a dose of 2 times 75 mg. The pain decreased a little. Please let me know if these drugs also treat my damaged peripheral nerves. or do they only reduce pain?

Yes, pregabalin - is one of the drugs of first choice for the treatment of neuropathic pain of peripheral and central origin, that is, caused by nerve damage.

To @Reni:

The selection of the appropriate medication is up to the doctor, who is thoroughly acquainted with the patient's health condition and medical history and treatment.

To @Walle:

Pregabalin does not directly treat damaged nerves. Its action is based on relieving neuropathic pain, which is the result of nerve damage.

Does pregabalin cure the nerve damage or does it just take away the pain?
