Praziquantel is the active substance contained in the veterinary medicine quanifen. This substance in a concentration of 600mg (as opposed to only 50mg in quenifen) is available in Germany on prescription with Polish, at e23 per tablet. Such a row of dosage is for humans - a minimum of one tablet per day (ie up to 10mg per kg) for unarmed tapeworms, for armed 3 tablets (25 mg per kg), and for flukes 40-75mg per kg (ie 5-10 tablets per day). Praziquantel also acts on other parasites. As for vomiting after taking the drug, it can happen, parasites react to the drug. The next course of treatment after 2 weeks may be in a lower dose.

Preparat Quanifen jest produktem weterynaryjnym. Na stronie GIW (Głównego Inspektoratu Weterynarii) znalazłam informację jedynie o wycofaniu w lutym zeszłego roku jednej z serii preparatu. Tego typu wycofania mogą być związane np. z wadą jakościową produktu. Z informacji na stronie GIW wynika, że produkt powinien być dostępny.
