No, Forxiga is not issued at a discount to all patients. Whether the drug will be prescribed at a discount is determined by the indications. The disease from which you suffer, and for which you have been prescribed a specific drug, is a very important factor affecting what fee you will have to pay at the pharmacy. For each drug, a list of diseases (indications) in which it can be used is specified. Information about the diseases that are treated with a given product can be found in the leaflet attached to the drug or in a special document dedicated to healthcare professionals called the Summary of Product Characteristics. Refunds may be granted for all or only some of the medical conditions listed in this document. Forxiga is only reimbursed at a dose of 10 mg. Indications for reimbursement are: - type 2 diabetes, in patients before insulin inclusion, treated with at least two oral hypoglycemic drugs for at least 6 months, with HbA1c ≥ 8% and very high cardiovascular risk understood as: 1) confirmed cardiovascular disease, or 2) damage to other organs manifested by: proteinuria or left ventricular hypertrophy or retinopathy, or 3) the presence of 3 or more major risk factors among those listed below: -age ≥ 55 years for men, ≥60 years for women, - dyslipidemia, - hypertension, - smoking, - obesity. The price of the drug Forxiga 10 mg with a discount of 30% is PLN 53.44. The level of payment is decided by the doctor who, on the basis of the medical history and medical history, is able to determine whether any of the circumstances entitling to issue a discount prescription has occurred. The pharmacy employee does not decide on the level of payment and cannot change it. The list of reimbursed medicines is updated every 2 months. I send a link to the details of the reimbursement of Forxiga: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/92331/forxiga-tabletki-powlekane/refundacja/180734 and articles that may be useful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/blog/czy-nowoczesne-leczenie-cukrzycy-flozynami-bedzie-refundowane https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/ile-kosztuje-zycie-z-cukrzyca https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/kiedy-lek-nalezy-sie-na-znizke

To @Lidia: You will probably not be able to prescribe the drug at a discount, because HbA1c should be more than 7.5%. The final decision on the level of payment is made by the doctor based on the exact medical history and medical history.

Does the age of 87 years, hypertension, obesity, HbA1c 7.2 despite the diet and other drugs besides insulin entitle to a discount?

For @Andrzej: You are entitled to Forxiga with a refund if you additionally have type 2 diabetes not yet treated with insulin, but treated with at least two other oral hypoglycemic drugs for at least 6 months, and the results of the glycated hemoglobin test are ≥ 8 %.

Hello! I have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease and chronic heart failure with severely reduced ejection fraction. I arrived implantation of the cardioverter defibrillator and implantation of the stent. I am also treated for hypertension. In my case, is the drug Forxiga 10 mg subject to 30% reimbursement, because the cardiologist says yes and prescribes the drug with a 30% discount and the family doctor says that no?

For @Andrzej: Forxiga is not reimbursed for Distinguished Honorary Blood Donors and Distinguished Transplant Donors. Is Forxiga refunded to Distinguished Honorary Blood Donors and who can get a refund? The doctor does not want to write such a prescription because he is afraid that he could pay for such a drug as a penalty, because he can not such a prescription, because he is inhibited by the regulations of the Minister of Health.
