Good morning. I have been prescribed arthril 1500 mg in sachets by my doctor, but after taking the first dose I have abdominal pain (upper abdominal cavity) after two hours of taking the drug. Should I stop taking the drug? And there were problems with falling asleep, which I had no problems with before. I'm afraid that such a large dose may destroy my stomach, since it's just the beginning of the treatment. I have saved two packs of this drug. I don't know what to do?

Clinical studies with Arthryl have shown that the medicine is well tolerated and that the side effects are usually mild and temporary. Abdominal pain and insomnia should disappear with continued treatment. The occurrence of abdominal pain and sleep disorders are not an absolute indication for discontinuation of therapy. You can read about when to stop taking medication in the article:

If abdominal pain and insomnia are bothersome and will not go away, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. Discontinuation of therapy will render it ineffective. You can also take advantage of teleconsultation, e.g. via the Gdziepolek.pl portal:

Any medicine you use can cause side effects. This does not mean that every patient will experience them. We wrote about whether to be afraid of adverse drug reactions in the article:

I also encourage you to report adverse drug reactions. Reporting side effects allows you to increase control over medicines available on the market. We wrote more about how and why to report side effects in the article:
