My question Antibiotic given too late with a fever ? Can fever be after batrci? If a high fever persists despite the use of Bactrim, consult a paediatrician. Until you visit your doctor, you should use fever-reducing medications such as Paracetamol or Ibuprofen (both are available in liquid form for children). It is difficult to assess the reason for the persistent temperature without a thorough examination of the child. The reasons can be various (e.g. the treatment implemented does not work for this particular infection).
