Hello, since April I have been taking medications prescribed by a psychiatrist Velaxin 150mg, I am currently after a hospital stay in the neurology department, unfortunately I did not inform the doctor that I was taking these medications and he prescribed me amitriptylinium, can these two drugs be combined with each other?

Amitriptyline and Velaxin should only be used together if they have been prescribed by 1 doctor or if the doctor knew about their use. Medications should then be administered under medical supervision, as they may cause side effects related to excessive serotonin levels in the body. These include, for example, cardiac arrhythmias, excessive sweating.
