To @Wioletta:

Unfortunately, the price of Paxlovid starts at about 5 thousand for 30 tablets.
However, please remember that these preparations are intended to treat patients at risk of severe COVID-19, e.g. with advanced respiratory disease or severe impairment of the immune system.

In the case of mild and moderate COVID-19, over-the-counter symptomatic medications are used, e.g. anti-inflammatory and antipyretic, antitussive, rhinitis, etc. or if necessary, prescription inhaled steroids – after consulting with your doctor.

Are the prices of these drugs so high?

Various antiviral drugs are available in Poland that can be used in the context of SARS-CoV-2 virus infections (which causes COVID-19). All of them can be obtained with a prescription:

Veklury (remdesivir) - used to treat COVID-19 in patients requiring hospitalization.

Paxlovid (Nirmatrelvir/ritonavir) - used to treat COVID-19 in patients at risk of severe disease.

Lagevrio (Molnupiravir) - also used to treat COVID-19 in patients who are at risk.

Dexamethasone – a corticosteroid that is not an antiviral but can be used to treat severe cases of COVID-19 by reducing inflammation.

It is always a good idea to consult your doctor for the latest information and treatment recommendations.
