What can be the effects of Glucophage XR withdrawal if I don't have glycemic problems?

The endocrinologist prescribed me glucophage XR, I've been taking it for a year, I've never had any big problems with high glycemia and I'm wondering what the effects of stopping this drug could be, it doesn't bring me any benefits but only occasional abdominal pain.

Withdrawal of Glucophage XR (metformin) should always be carried out under medical supervision, especially due to the risk of lactic acidosis that can occur if the treatment is not properly managed.

While some people may experience occasional abdominal pain as a side effect, it is important to assess whether these symptoms are related to the medication. It is recommended that you consult your doctor about this decision to assess whether you need to adjust your treatment or change your medication. Monitoring glucose levels after withdrawal is crucial to avoid complications.
