I'm not sure if I prescribed the Sertraline dosage correctly with my doctor. Is it safe to use 100 mg twice a day at the beginning of treatment?

Good afternoon. The psychotherapist prescribed sertraline 100 mg 2 times a day + lithium carbonate 2 times a day. After reading the instructions, I began to doubt whether I had written down the daily dosage correctly. There is no connection with the doctor.I think that immediately starting with 200 mg per day is too much.or does it happen?what bad can be?

Sertraline preparations are medicines obtained with a prescription. If you are unsure about the dosage of the drug, consult the doctor who prescribed it. Treatment with sertraline usually starts with lower doses, 25 mg or 50 mg depending on the indication. An increase in dose is recommended if the drug is not effective, and this should be done gradually and under medical supervision. Sometimes, however, the doctor may recommend a different procedure than the one presented in the leaflet. Do not modify the dosage yourself, please consult your doctor and state your concerns.
